The Olduvai Gorge Museum is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Northern Tanzania on the edge of the Olduvai Gorge. A site in Tanzania that holds the earliest evidence of the existence of human ancestors. Paleontologists have found hundreds of fossilized bones and stone tools in the area dating back millions of years, guiding a conclusion that humans evolved in Africa. It is approximately 5 km from the main road to the Serengeti plains north west of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Dr. Louis Leakey and his wife Mary are known as the first family of paleontology in East Africa after making a great achievement in a discovery of the skull of the first human being at Olduvai Gorge in 1959, dating 60 years today.
