Factors Affecting the Cost of a Tanzania Safari

These are the factors that affect the cost of a safari in Tanzania;

  • Trip days (length of your safari) :

Longer safaris entail more visits to the park and relevant fees inclusive of other constant costs hence being typically more expensive than shorter safaris.

  • Time of the Year:

Our safari seasons are subdivided into 3 Major seasons; Peak Season ( June to October) High Season ( January to March, November and December ) Green/Low Season ( April and May)  Safaris are more expensive during the peak season when the weather is dry, wildlife are more visible and easily sighted and for the Serengeti National park is the majestic wildebeest migration, while trips are cheap on the green season due to heavy rains and wildlife are sighted on some certain specified areas

  • Fly in & out packages:

For fly-in packages across different national parks, this will add to the cost of your safari, since flight prices within parks is a considerable amount.

  • Number of Travelers:

Larger groups have the benefit of shared fixed costs and more so get discounts on accommodation and extra activities

  • Activities:

Activities, such as walking safaris, crater lunch, bush dinners, sundowners and hot air balloon rides have a substantial cost to partake them.

  • Parks visited:

The more the parks you visit, the higher the cost of the safari. The parks have entrance and overnight fees for some and are determined by the number of days you will be spending as well as the ones you will need to pass across to arrive at your destination

  • Tour Grade :

The above-mentioned tour grades starting from Budget, Mid-range and Luxury safari play a huge part in the cost with the type of accommodation also factored in your relevant package obviously Luxury options are expensive than budget.

Much relief is gained when you understand that Tanzania offers a wide range from; budget where you overnight out on the camps with bonfires to comfort packages that cater the mid- budgeted travelers to High end where you will sip your wine on your private Jacuzzi in the middle of the jungle.
